I will be teaching a 'Plique-a-jour with Fine Slver Metal Clay' class at BeadFX in Toronto.
Day 1: Saturday, April 13th, 10:00am to 5:00pm
Day 2: Sunday, April 14; 10:00am to 5:00pm
Course outline: Plique-à-jour is a style of enamelling that uses a delicate metal framework to support free areas of transparent glass. Because plique-à-jour has no metal backing, it is visually similar to a stained glass window. While this technique is beautiful, it is arguably the most challenging form of enamelling. In this class, students will create fine silver frames for plique-à-jour using metal clay. Multiple approaches to enamel application will be covered.
