I will be teaching an Adding Gemstone Accents to Enamel course at BeadFX in Toronto.

Day 3: Sunday, January 31, 2016 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Course outline: In this class, students will take their enamelling skills to the next level and learn how to incorporate bezel- set gemstone accents into their Champlevé enamel designs. Students will use fine silver metal clay to form a base for an enamelled design. In addition to kiln enamelling techniques, students will learn how to fuse fine silver to Argentium sterling alloy, how to depletion guild sterling silver, how to create secure connections using rivets, and how to successfully bezel-set a gemstone. This is a technique-driven class, though design considerations for future projects will be discussed.
